Lynette R. Quast received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California. She was trained in the general clinical program with an emphasis area in health psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Montreal General Hospital in Quebec. She also completed a post-graduate two-year Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.

Dr. Quast maintains a generalist practice, working with adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy as well as joint/couples sessions. She largely works with individuals struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship/interpersonal problems and longer-term personality issues. She also has a specialty focus in eating disorders/body image disturbances in adolescents and adults. She additionally conducts psychological evaluations for individuals interested in bariatric/gastric by-pass surgery. Dr. Quast utilizes an integrated approach with treatment, largely using interventions from  psychodynamic, cognitive/ behavioral, and mindfulness-based theories.  The particular approach is specific for each individual, depending on the nature of the problem and the person’s unique history.

Dr. Quast has also had experience in supervising trainees/interns in the field of psychology. She currently is a member of the American Psychological Association and the South Dakota Psychological Association.  Dr. Quast is Past-President of the South Dakota Psychological Association.
