Al Lloyd, LPC-MH, RPT

Al LloydAl is a licensed professional mental health counselor with his Master's Degree in Counseling from South Dakota State University. In addition to working as a therapist his past experiences include working as a social worker specializing in adoptions and as a school counselor with both the elementary and middle school children. Al has worked the last 16 years with children, teenagers, adults and families.

Child and adolescent issues (ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive- compulsive disorder, low self-esteem, and behavioral problems) couples, family relationship problems, and parent training tend to be his areas of specialization though he sees clients with a variety of concerns. Al utilizes several modalities in treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, family therapy and play therapy.

Al has also undergone specialized training in the area of play therapy and is a registered play therapist. In working with children play therapy serves as a primary form of intervention to help children adjust to and overcome a variety of life stressors and problems.

Al's commitment in therapy or assessments is to work together with the clients to identify the concerns and find workable solutions that will improve their quality of life.
